Back in action once again
Hmm.
The four days I spent in Penang really made me somewhat rusty on the guitar.. I can't imagine what will happen to me when I go off for NS... would be a total nightmare when I finally pick the block of wood up once more.
Anyway.
Had to hand up some stuff to the DTs in IDS, and I was pretty much bored stiff this morning, before I met up with John and passed him my violin bow for him to experiment around with. I had arranged to have lunch with Amanda and her pals before I leave for overseas, so that at least we can have the opportunity to hang out.
So lunch was followed by a walk to AMK.. just accompanied them before taking a bus back home... and I warmed up a little on my Red Twanger before icking up the Red Vixen for some hot-shit picking.
Since I had arranged for Alvin to come to my place at 2pm, he waltzed right into my room around 2:15 (?) whilst I was banging out the rhythm for 'Highway To Hell'... it was kinda funny because I did that pick scrape thingie after the solo and his face just gave that uncomfortable smile.
We managed to punch in some tracks for Alvin's feature bluegrass romp, titled 'Amanda Lynn'... due ot a pun on my blog rather recently and also because the song's main instrument is a mandolin. Geddit?
Alvin managed to mix together the rhythm track and he gave me a rough end-piece a few hours ago.. but frankly the solo bits could have been given slightly more volume to have that kind of definition. I for one was feeling that my solo has a little weird but I guess for some things, when it's qualified as 'done' you just leave it alone and let the master (Alvin) do the editing magic.
Sigh.
Going away again. Early Friday morning, at 1am, I will be on a flight to Rome, where I know I will find alot of interesting things to see, but I know as well that my heart will be stuck here in Singapore.. for what reasons I will not say, but I feel slowly eaten away and I hope it will end soon.
Cheers,
Crawldaddy
