Dah.. Back

Hmm.

Well I touched down at Changi this morning at 6am, reached home at about 8am, and reached school at roughly 9:15am. Today was totally whacked... had to handle an information overload from so many different sources, and top that off with an OGL meeting... and handing Amanda a little something I got for her from Venice (sorry to those who didn't get anything, but I was practically stone broke).

Anyway, my trip to Italy can be summarised with these few sentences:

1. We went to Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice, Genova, and then back to Rome via Florence.
2. Italy was very cold.. and very dry.
3. The drivers in Italy like to drive very quickly, I suppose the lack of a speed limit on the highway contributes to that.
4. In general, the cars in Italy are incredibly filthy.
5. When a hotel in Italy displays 3 stars, chances are it's only 2 stars in real life, and expensive to boot... but when a hotel displays 4 stars, you'll betcha it'll be friggin expensive as well.
6. Murphy's Law tends to prey on travellers when they are abroad, hence the following: 'when all roads lead to rome, you know the signboards are fucking with you'
7. In relation to the above, the road signages in Italy are atrociously misleading.
8. Think Paolo family from that season of Amazing Race, and you can imagine what is going on in the car 80% of the time on the road during our trip.
9. I got to see many famous art peices and buildings: The leaning tower of Pisa, St. Peter's Basilica, The Sistine Chapel, Fotana De Trevi, The statue of David, The Last Supper, The Thinker (statue), and a few more miscellaneous stuff.
10. I never want to go on an overseas trip with my family until I can afford to buy things myself.. because the thought of being stone broke took the edge off the excitement.

Cheers,

Crawldaddy
