So Dark The Con Of Man

Hmm.

I was just having a conversation with this 14-year old drummer on msn. The thing is, I was just having the fun idea of looking for people to 'join a band' which plays rock.. blues rock at that. And he was one guy who responded to my invitation.

This guy, I have to say this fellow is just so steeped in punk music, he is just blind to any musical phenomenon outside punk.

Apparently, any rock music other than 'punk' seems to be 'metal' with this guy.

So here I am sitting and asking him to name any bands so that I could classify them for him.. because his knowledge of rock history is a insignificant as your toe clippings. I can't imagine anyone going around, thinking they know what music is, proclaiming Led Zeppelin and AC/DC are metal bands and them proceeding to think I'm pulling their leg when I say they are blues rock.

Anyway, this is testament to the dismal effect MTV has on this brand new wave of 'rockers', or essentially 'punk-whiners' (due to this guy's apparent infatuation with Simple Plan). These guys don't know their rock history, the types of musical genres (and which bands belong to which groups), they do not explore different types of music, and frankly I just find the situation absolutely ridiculous... these guys don't know music at all!

To top it all... this guy's like a hardcore punk... tatoos, piercings and swearing.

Sigh... I knew this world was going to the dogs, anyway.
