FLIP Challenge 2005

Hmm.

Wow, it seems that SDN is on a roll.. first we win the Green Campus Day, and now Alvin and I have garnered a 'Merit' Award for our 'Modus Operandi' chair, which is now on display at the Singapore History Museum (3rd floor, Robertson Point) until the 30th of November.

Considering that NYP ID concepts have entered into the 2nd round of most competitions but didn't win any awards, it comes as a pleasant surprise that our chair has managed to impress the judges somewhat in order for us to clinch the top 6 prize.

It's also sad we didn't manage to get any cash, but we did have a good eye-opener, and a very hungry belly due to the rigours of judging and contact-making. It also appears that Alvin and myself were also one the youngest if not the youngest of participants for the finalist judging rounds. Not too bad for a pair of lame guys with wit the size of army tanks, and enough gags to fill a super star destroyer. Also a very comfortable chair to boot.

Bear in mind that 70% of people who sit on that chair immediately go 'ahhhhhhhh........', and some very rare cases feel very inclined to fall asleep on it immediately. Of course in one particular case, someone said 'Hmm.. feels like I'm sitting on Phuket B*tch!! Yeah, just like Phuket B*itch!!!'

LOL.

It was a very fun evening, and I'd say one of the most fruitful events I've taken part in.. and that's just due to the fact we received our first desigh award lol. We did meet a fair lot of people, and they were very nice and all... it was a fantastic morning and evening. Thank God for that small but heavy award... at least give NYP some face lol.

Cheers,
