Hmm.

Quite a while back my brother bought the latest Coldplay release, "X&Y", which I have been listening to for a while.. and one track stood out in particular because I found the lyrics particularly touching and meaningful. They're not emo, and come to think of it, this song is kinda reminiscent of Hillsongs. So here are the lyrics

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream, down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I..

Tears stream, down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I..

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

The lyrics sort of reflect my current situation, except that I do believe I am the one who needs fixing. Lately I've not been myself. It's rather worrying that I'm in a state whereby I have no idea how to get myself out of it.

Everyone else is stuck in their own world, while I'm floating around, searching for something to help me carry on, move away from the vaccum which is the continuous pressure of school work, projects and the ridiculous politics which I have to bear.

Lately Alvin and I have managed to finish some of the tracks designated for "steak & onions", and one song which I had written, titled 'Healing of Time', had the original lyrics lost. So after I had finished off the basic rhythm bits, I wrote new lyrics for the song:

And it's you, you're all I see
everyday and night
everything was out of place but you
made it alright

And it's true, you're all I see
when I sleep at night
nothing come close to the feeling of you
by my side

you know it has no reason and no rhyme
but certainly you know it's in the healing of time

Though we're through
but what I feel deep down inside
is the feeling of times when I just
held you tight

And tell me you want me baby
to tell you more
but i guess it's never too late to reveal
what's in store

you know it has no reason and no rhyme
but certainly you know it's in the healing of time

(hazy) it's only in the healing of time

Frankly I dunno why but I have this ability to write love songs better than songs of any other subject. Lack of love? Or simply just too unsuited for it, and hence ability to see from another person's point of view? Whatever the case is, I know these songs which I wrote will never reach the intended ears.

Cheers,
