I want to thank you for always having that smile
it's too bad we only knew each other for a short while
what might have been would never have been
because all my flaws were all that you have seen

the couple of hours I saw you a week back ago or so
made me reflect somewhat on the times that I would know
how hopeless any attempt would be in your eyes
no matter how sincere it would seem like a pack of lies

So here's to you and I hope you remain well as good
carrying on with what you do best and the way you should
I'll be that bump in the road you thought was a stone
and your smile keeps chilling me to the core of my bones
