Art Materials and them being Way Too expensive

Hmm.

Ok, first and foremost, being a design student isn't just all about drawing and colouring things and objects we conjure in our minds. We take into account what appeals to people, what works well and of course, what sells.

The thing is, it's bad enough we have a packed schedule, freakily pressurising lecturers who load homework on us like (obviously) nobody's business, and then we have to spend astronomical amounts of cash just getting the materials we desire.

Take our Copic rendering markers for example: they come from Japan, and hence, it is Art Friend's brilliant idea to charge more than 4 bucks per marker itself, and 7.50 for the bloody refill.

What the fock, man.

I mean, yeah fair enough, japan's like the birthplace of manga art and all that load of horseshit, but to bring this kind of bullcrap on us, prospecting designers-to-be, charging us through our noses while we can't even get a decent part-time job and then making sure that we'll have to be back for more due to the 'requirements' made by our lecturers to buy these certain products etc.

Also, the markers are so hard to refill, i wasted like a fair amount of Special Black 110 refill by accidentally pouring some onto my finger, so 20% of my fingers on my left hand are blackened. But the cause of the need for the markers to be refilled shall not be discussed in case Bei Zi feels guilty.

Patrick is one guy whom i do believe needs to learn how to take bullcrap. Yeah, so what if my classmates and myself can't deliver stuff that's up to your bloody standard? We're just starting out, not full-fledged professionals, or we won't be here listening to your incessant remarks and snide comments.

Students like us do not ask much, just proper guidance and advice, not the shit you put on us like asking us to find things out for ourselves while you take your kopi break and we can't even find the damn reference book you put into such importance.

if you wish to gain our respect, first respect our needs.

Cheers,

Crawldaddy
